February 22nd-26th
GLE: #4- Recognize and compute equivalent representation of fractions and decimals
GLE: #6- Compare positive fractions, decimals, and positive and negative integers using symbols
GLE: #18-Measure length and read measurements to the nearest sixteenth-inch
GLE # 31- Demonstrate an understanding of precision, accuracy, and error in measurement
Monday: Review for Test Tomorrow
Tuesday: TEST; Students will complete a matching game if they finish early
Wednesday: Review Test and Teach pg 202; Students will complete pg 204 #8-28 even problems-homework if not finished in class (the students can use a calculator) This will be taken up for a grade.
Thursday: Review Homework; Review ADD; Bingo Game
Friday: Short Quiz on converting Decimals to Fractions; LAB
Wednesday February 24th, Quality Binders Graded Papers-Students will receive their test from Tuesday and their ADD from last week in my class. These grades will be on the 5th six-weeks.
MARCH 1ST-5TH
GLE: #4- Recognize and compute equivalent representation of fractions and decimals
GLE: #6- Compare positive fractions, decimals, and positive and negative integers using symbols
GLE#5-Decide which representation of a positive number (i.e., fraction or decimal) is appropriate in a real-life situation
GLE #7- Read and write numerals and words for decimals through ten-thousandths
Monday: REVIEW ADD. Students will learn how to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to percents. Students will also learn a song to help them remember this procedure. Students will be able to sing the song for candy or 1 bonus point on their quiz Wednesday. Students will be assigned pg 208 # 11-27 odd to complete in class. This is NOT for homework.
Tuesday: Students will complete the work from the book given yesterday. I will assign partners and allow students to put their problem on the board. Their quiz tomorrow will be from the problems assigned in class. Students will be able to sing their song.
Wednesday: Short quiz on converting fractions to decimals. Students will complete a matching game. Then we will complete the "I have-Who has" game as a class. These activities will help them practice their ability to write and say decimals.
Thursday: Review ADD. Students will talk about when to use fractions, decimals, and percents in real life. The students will play a group game converting fractions to decimals decimals to fractions.
Friday: REVIEW ADD ; LAB

MARCH 8TH-12TH

GLE #13- Use models and pictures to explain concepts or solve problems involving ratio, proportion, and percent with whole numbers
Monday: REVIEW ADD. Students will complete a number line with fractions, decimals, and percents.
Tuesday: Students will practice reading and writing the decimals pg 104-105 #15-24; 29-36; 41-47 The students will have a quiz on this on Wednesday. This will be HOMEWORK if not completed in class.
Wednesday: Short homework quiz. Students will complete Student Activity 6.1 and 6.2
Thursday: Review ADD. Students will use models to represent fractions. Students will complete Student Activity 6.4 and 6.5
Friday: REVIEW ADD ; LAB

Wednesday March 10th, Quality Binders Graded Papers-
Fraction to Decimal Quiz and ADD (#20-29)
MARCH 15TH-19TH
GLE: #6- Compare positive fractions, decimals, and positive and negative integers using symbols
GLE #13- Use models and pictures to explain concepts or solve problems involving ratio, proportion, and percent with whole numbers
GLE #20- Calculate, interpret, and compare rates such as $/lb., mpg, and mph
Monday: Review ADD (#35-36) "A day of Mystery" The students will work in groups to find 6 mystery numbers based on clues given to them. The students will also work on Student Activity 7.3 (this is NOT for homework)
Tuesday: ratios and rates.
Wednesday: Student activity 8.2 (FOR A GRADE) Begin on purchase project
Thursday: The students will use store adds to "purchase" items. They will have to add 10% tax to those items and keep their total under $20. They will have to fill in their $20 bill with the fraction of the $20 they spent on each item.
Friday: Students will be able to finish their projects and show them to the class.
